Hustle 4 Hunter

From 3 to 16

13 years ago we set off on a journey  with Autism Spectrum Disorder and GDD (Global Development Delay) as Hunters diagnosis.

I seen things I would never have imagined, the ignorance, discrimination. But I also witnessed everyday miracles. A milestone was not just a milestone. I learnt to be present in the moment and treasure things most wouldn't think twice about. I became an advocate, a specialist, an educator and a therapist to a wonderfully kind unique little boy.

Life was all sorts of crazy back then and we were often one tent away from a full blown circus!

I'm grateful for  friends who are accommodating and are willing to go the extra mile to meet our needs.

To the therapists who give me space to 'parent' even if they suggested something different & trusting I knew Hunter better than anyone ever could.

We recently celebrated Hunters 16th Birthday, now a 6 ft gentle giant with a love of sports and obsession with Rugby League. Hunter is working at year level alongside his peers and will graduate from high school in 2027.

Against the odds, I am extremely proud to be raising a kind, considerate & respectful young man.

We're joining the movement to Run for Autism. But we need your help!

Why am I running 70km this October? Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges.

We’re running towards a more inclusive world where the Autistic community have the opportunity to thrive.

Please donate and show your support to out fundraiser. You’ll be helping more Autistic people in Australia access life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services.

You’ll also give us the motivation we need to log kilometres as we go the distance throughout October. Donate now to show your support.

Thank you!
