Ways to take part

You can join solo or team up! This year, we’re taking things to the next level – now you can create or join a community with your team and connect with even more people!

Let's break it down here so you can find out the best way for you or your workplace, school, gym or sports club to get involved.

You are participating with your workplace (the community) and different departments wish to create their own teams. The teams will all be in the workplace community, with individual teams represented.

You are taking part with a school and each class (or year group) wish to form their own team. The school is the community, with the teams sitting underneath.

You are taking place with a gym (the community) and different classes or friendship groups wish to form their own teams.

Please note that you will have to create a team and then create your community.

INDIVIDUAL - Sign up solo. You also have the option to create or join a team!
TEAM UP - Create your own team and you can invite your team members from your dashboard anytime. You can also join an existing team either by accepting their invite or if you know the team name you can search it up and click join the team button on their team page.

WORKPLACE/COMMUNITY - You can create a community once you have created a team. You can invite people to join or they can create their own team within your community. You can check out how your community is tracking on the leaderboard.

Get your group together you’ll be entered for a chance to WIN a $1,000 Pace Athletic voucher to dress your team head to toe for their run this October!

Do you know what's even more exciting than reaching your Run for Autism goals solo? Doing it as part of a team! Imagine the excitement of achieving your targets with the encouragement of friends and colleagues by your side.

Ready to level up? Organise a 'community' challenge within your workplace, gym, or sports club. Form multiple teams and watch them them go the distance in a fun and competitive race to the finish!

Looking for inspiration? Meet the Creative Robotics Lab (CRL), where innovation meets impact — and whose team proudly took part in the Run for Autism event.

"At the Creative Robotics Lab our research explores ways to improve the human experience through technology. This can mean different things to different people and one of our research priorities is in Assistive Technology, where we acknowledge and celebrate individual abilities and different perspectives of the world.

Some of our work explores neurodiversity specifically and many of the research projects in the CRL have been developed in partnership with Autistic people and organisations, including Aspect. We believe that the history of academic research has not always treated Autistic people with respect and that there is a lot of work to do before we can claim our research is fully co-designed or community-led.

On this journey, we want to support the people working directly with the communities we also hope to benefit through our research, and this is why several members of the CRL leadership team chose to take part in Run For Autism. The event also comes at an interesting time as we all face the challenges of global pandemic. We are approaching Run For Autism as a social experience for our team; sharing our goals and successes with each other."

Once you’re set, it’s time to get moving and share the excitement! Get outside into the fresh Australian air and start running. Whether solo, with a team, or in your community, set challenges to get fit, boost your energy, and hit your step goals. Running is great for your heart, mind, and overall well-being!

Encourage yourself and your teammates to raise funds through your networks—helping you hit personal and team fundraising goals.

Most importantly, have fun! Celebrate every step and all the progress you make!
