Run Update

As we approach the end of the month, I have not been able to complete any kilometers yet.

In the first two weeks of the month, I struggled to find time to run, which made me feel bad about not being able to complete my runs by the end of the month. In the middle of the month, I was just about to officially start running when, unfortunately, I injured my knee during basketball training.

I have always struggled with time management, but I have noticed that I have gotten better since being diagnosed with ASD and ADHD. However, every now and then, I still struggle, which then affects my mental health.

But I will not give up. As soon as I get clearance from the physio, I will run my 40 km, maybe more. Even though October will be over, I won’t stop. I don’t like breaking my promises.

I want to give a massive thank you for all the donations. It means the world to me. I’m also very thankful for the amazing support I have received from my hometown and community❤️

Get to know me!

Hello everyone! My name is Chloe, and this year I am excited to participate in the Run for Autism.

3 years ago, at the age of 19, I received a diagnoses of Autism Spectrum Disorder and ADHD. I have firsthand experience of the challenges faced while growing up undiagnosed, struggling through school, and feeling different from my peers in the way my mind operates.

Since my diagnosis, I have been fortunate to have access to amazing support that has made a significant difference in my life.
More than anything, this journey has provided me with the invaluable opportunity to understand myself on a much deeper level, allowing me to embrace my identity and navigate the world with greater confidence.

The funds that I'm hoping to raise could go towards:

* Helping Autistic people and their families access earlier diagnosis so they grow up with the support and understanding that comes from an autism diagnosis.

* Providing resources and information that empower Autistic people and their families following an autism diagnosis.

* Creating inclusive, autism-friendly environments where Autistic people feel comfortable and free to be themselves.

* Providing specialist schooling for children on the autism spectrum in an environment that allows them to embrace their different brilliant.

I’m running this October for the 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum.

I’m running 40km this October to raise funds for the estimated 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum!

Increased awareness and understanding means more people than ever are being diagnosed as Autistic – connecting more people to the support they need to thrive throughout their lives. But it also means services are being stretched further than ever before - with many children left on long wait lists at critical times in their development.

I have joined Run for autism to raise funds so more Autistic Australians can access the life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services they need to create their own unique brilliance!

Any contribution, large or small, will help create a more inclusive future for Australia’s Autistic community.

Thank you so much!
