I have started!

Hi there, October is here and I have started to clock up the distance! A total of 15km so far! 
I was hoping to steadily do this each day (but I will try) for a few reasons:
1) It is important to get out and about each day. I know that my ND family does better in the outdoors and so ensuring that I get out and about each day means I am creating a discipline for me and my family to do the same thing. 
2) As a carer, it is easy to forget about looking after myself but in order for me to be my best self for my family and work, being intentional about trying to achieve this on a daily basis means I am getting the oxygen mask on me first. 
3) This isn’t about ticking the box and saying “finished!” - I am on a journey with my family to learn how to do life in a sustainable and empowering way. I am constantly challenged because many things take longer to get done but I love my family, and I want to adapt and grow so I can better support them.
Thanks to those who have donated for this cause. It is so important for those who interact with us and the broader society to be more aware of what autism is about, and learning how/finding ways to be supportive. Being patient and non-judgmental is a great way to start!

I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.

Why am I walking 70km this October? Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges.

I’m running towards a more inclusive world where Autistic Australians have the opportunity to thrive.
