Colour the Way – 70km in October
“Walking with purpose, painting the path with hope.”
This October I’m taking on the challenge to run 70km for autism awareness and support.
As a mum to my beautiful boy, Leon, who is autistic, I see first-hand the daily challenges he faces — from navigating a world that doesn’t always understand him, to the struggles with anxiety and emotions that can become overwhelming. As his mother, I face my own battles: advocating for him, supporting him through meltdowns, and being his constant anchor even in the darkest moments.
Did you know that 70% of autistic people experience mental health challenges? I’ve seen this up close with Leon. There have been times when he has been in very dark places, and as his mum, I’ve had to fight to pull him back into the light. No parent should have to walk that journey alone.
By running 70km this October, I’m not just running for Leon — I’m running for every child, every family, and every individual on the spectrum. The funds raised will help provide opportunities, resources, and support services that can change lives, giving children like Leon, and other Australians living with autism, the tools they need to thrive.
This run is about awareness, acceptance, and action. Every kilometre represents hope for a brighter future.
Please donate and show your support to my fundraiser. You’ll be helping more Autistic people in Australia access life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services.
You’ll also give me the motivation I need to log my kilometres as I go the distance throughout October.
Thank you!
