I hit my goal!
With a few days left I managed to get it over the line and reach 40kms on the treadmill. It has been a bunch of early mornings to fit it in before the day official starts for the rest of the family but I'm glad that I managed to reach it.ÂThe support that I've received has been amazing! thanks to everyone who chipped in to get me here. I'm going to have to get in a victory lap before the end of the month!Â

It's all begun! Thanks to those who have donated so far I'm roughly the same distance from my running goal as I am for my fund-raising goal! Let's do this together!I’m running this October for the 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum.
I’m running 40km this October to raise funds for the estimated 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum!Â
In late 2022 after a lot of stress, tears and sleepless nights my wife took our son to see our GP to ask a question that I didn’t have the headspace to consider at the time.
Do you think our son might be autistic?
After observing his behaviour in the preceding seconds before we managed to sit down and ask our GP had already assessed that, yes, it was likely our son is autistic. What followed was an odyssey towards getting a paediatrician to see him, lots of reports, lots of meetings over a period of almost a year. The services to support folks on the spectrum or those who are wondering about it are hard to access, expensive and involve significant waiting lists.
I have joined Run for autism to raise funds so more Autistic Australians know about and can access assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and community services they need.
Any contribution, large or small, will help create a more inclusive future for Australia’s Autistic community.
