Chasing 70 : I’m running 70km this October for the 1 in 70 Australians on the autism spectrum.
Isn't it astounding, the fact that, in our expansive and diverse country, autism is a reality for over 350,000 Australians each and every day? For these young, bright minds, the importance of early diagnosis simply cannot be overstated. It becomes the key that unlocks the door to individualized support, both at home and within the walls of their classrooms, enabling them to revel in the glow of their exceptional brilliance.
Yet, there lies a sobering reality amidst our strides. A multitude of families, hindered by financial constraints, are caught in a seemingly never-ending queue, waiting, hoping for urgent autism assessments. This is a wait, a burden, no family should bear.
And that's why I am stepping up. I am wholeheartedly committing myself to the Run for Autism. The goal is unequivocal: to provide our children the advantage of an early diagnosis, to usher them towards the doorway of specialized support services. In this way, we're not just offering assistance; we're offering them the chance to sparkle, to truly outshine their challenges.
And so, I reach out to you. Will you join me on this journey? Will you support our cause in the Run for Autism through a tax-deductible donation? No matter the size of your contribution, be it small or significant, each dollar makes a monumental difference in the lives of families on the cusp of an autism diagnosis.
