We're running this October for the 1 in 70 Australians on the autism spectrum.
It is estimated that 1 in 70 Australians are Autistic. The average age for diagnosis is between 4 and 6 years of age but unfortunately delays in diagnosis are not uncommon. The current situation in Perth for families seeking diagnosis is dire. The waitlist for a public assessment is over 2 years and many private paediatricians are so busy that they have had to close their books. For children, an early diagnosis is critical. It means more tailored support at home and school, so they can experience the joy of being a different brilliant.
That’s why we're taking on Run for autism. To help children access an early diagnosis, opening doors to specialised support services and giving them the best possible chance to shine!
