My WHY!
I’m running for our Ari Kai. Ari was diagnosed in late 2023 as Level 2 ASD and some areas he is level 3. For people that are unfamiliar with Autism Spectrum Disorder, a child who is classified as Level 2 requires a substantial amount of support to complete simple tasks like brushing their teeth, communicating their needs and getting dressed. Ari may not look like he requires this amount of support from the outside world, but it has taken a lot of unsupported hard work behind closed doors to help him function in a world that isn’t designed for neurodivergent humans. Without organisations like Aspect, resources for families, carers and professionals wouldn’t be readily accessible to help provide support for them. So please give a little or a lot to help raise funds so families, carers, professionals and autistic people can thrive in this world XI’m running this October for the 1 in 40 Australians on the autism spectrum.

Increased awareness and understanding means more people than ever are being diagnosed as Autistic – connecting more people to the support they need to thrive throughout their lives. But it also means services are being stretched further than ever before - with many children left on long wait lists at critical times in their development.
I have joined Run for autism to raise funds so more Autistic Australians can access the life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services they need to create their own unique brilliance!
Any contribution, large or small, will help create a more inclusive future for Australia’s Autistic community.
