I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.
Why am I participating? Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges.
I am someone with level 2 Autism who struggles with mental health challenges such as anxiety and PTSD due to severe childhood trauma involving school bullying. In a time when I wasn’t diagnosed and had to deal with it on my own, I vowed it my life goal to advocate for those who cannot speak up.
I am participating by walking and jogging 70kms over the course of months up until October as a mark in society that we walk among the crowd whether it can be seen or not.
This is also my way of giving back to the community as if it wasn’t for the generosity of the Salvation Army, I would not have been able to afford my own diagnosis assessment.
Please donate and show your support to my fundraiser. You’ll be helping more Autistic people in Australia access life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services.
You’ll also give me the motivation I need to log my kilometres as I go the distance.
Thank you!
Wendy.
