How your run will change lives
The earlier a child on the autism spectrum receives a diagnosis, the better. A diagnosis means a child can access specialised support that will help them sparkle in life. It’s a gateway to nurturing support that will help them realise their brilliance.
By joining Run for autism, you'll help children receive an early diagnosis, giving them access to specialist therapies, and allowing them to receive the support they need to reach their full potential in life. Furthermore, an early diagnosis can be a pathway that enables a child to access our autism-specific evidence informed schools, to benefit from tailored learning programmes.
Will you run 70kms in October, and help more children receive the autism diagnosis they need?
You’ll help children like Leo shine bright
Leo's life changed dramatically with specialised support from Aspect, all because of an early diagnosis. Leo's mum Diane said it changed their family’s life.
“Without Aspect’s help, Leo would be a lot more withdrawn. We are both much happier.”
Thanks to an early diagnosis, Leo received early childhood therapies and seamlessly transitioned to an Aspect school. Diane has seen an extraordinary transformation in her son's communication and social skills. Sign up for Run for autism and you’ll help other children like Leo realise their potential.
Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect) is one of Australia’s largest autism-specific service providers.
Run 70kms in October and you’ll help Aspect realise brilliance for the nearly 400,000 people on the autism spectrum in Australia.
With an early diagnosis, children can get early childhood supports including:
- Specialist education that adapts the curriculum to harness a child's abilities and strengths
- Therapy services for both the child and the parents to help them thrive
- Autism specific workshops for parents, carers, educators and health professionals to connect
- NDIS support so that children and adults can develop skills and make new friends
Join the Run for autism this October and help to achieve a stronger, happier future for every child on the autism spectrum.
