This cause is incredibly close to my heart.
My son, Arlo, was diagnosed with autism at 2 years and 9 months old. While his diagnosis has made this journey even more personal for me, my passion for supporting children with additional needs began long before we knew Arlo was autistic.
I work in childcare and have always had a special place in my heart for children who need a little extra understanding, patience and support. Every child deserves to feel included, accepted and celebrated for exactly who they are.
Becoming a mum to an autistic child has given me an even deeper appreciation for the importance of early support, understanding and awareness. It has also shown me just how incredible and unique every child’s journey can be.
I’m taking part in Run for Autism for Arlo, for the beautiful children I work with, and for every child and family navigating their own autism journey.
Every kilometre I complete and every dollar raised is my small way of helping create a world with greater understanding, inclusion and support for autistic children and their families. 💙
