Why am I taking part in Run for Autism

For most of my life, I never knew I was autistic. I was diagnosed with ADHD at 36 but it wasn't until this year at 38 that I finally discovered I was autistic too.

This year has been life-changing. My son, Mars, was diagnosed with AuDHD (autism and ADHD), and through his journey I came to understand my own. What I thought was "just ADHD" turned out to be AuDHD as well.

Together, Mars and I are learning how to navigate a world that isn't always designed for minds like ours. We celebrate the wins, support each other through the challenges, and remind one another that being different isn't something to hide—it's something to understand and embrace.

I'm taking part in Run for Autism to raise awareness, acceptance, and support for autistic people and their families. Every donation helps create a more inclusive world where neurodivergent people can thrive, and it means so much to our little team.

Thank you for supporting our journey.

I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.

Why am I running 70km this October? Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges.

I’m running towards a more inclusive world where Autistic Australians have the opportunity to thrive.

Please donate now and show your support to my fundraiser.  You’ll be helping provide early diagnosis, autism-specific education, and critical research into mental health issues experienced by Autistic people so they can access the support they need to realise their different brilliant®.

You’ll also give me the motivation I need to log my kilometres as I go the distance throughout October. Donate now to show your support.

Thank you!
