I DID IT!

Support me as I tackle 70kms this October!

DID YOU KNOW that it is estimated that 1 in 40 individuals are on the autism spectrum? This has increased dramatically from a previously estimated 1 in 70 individuals. With those 1 in 40 individuals, come family members and friends, who have loved, cared and worked with these individuals and the many supports they may have in place, just to make a day in their world, a more inclusive and happier place to be. At least 70% of these individuals with autism will face mental health challenges at some point in their lives. 

This October I will be completing my 70km goal to raise money for ASPECT, an organisation who provide a multitude of life-changing  opportunities for Autistic Australians to thrive. 

I do this for my own beautiful 10yr old boy, who was diagnosed with Autism from a young age. After years of watching him attend and work his little butt off every week, through multiple therapies since the age of 2, I hardly think the word “pride” accurately describes how I feel about him. I am in awe of how far he has come and how hard he has worked to be the young man he is today. Even now, he still faces various struggles, and I imagine he will continue to do so throughout his life. For him, and for all other Autistic Australians, I will forever advocate for a more inclusive world.
