I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.
Why am I joining and doing the 70km this October? Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges, Being diagnosed Autistic in my early 30s after struggling my whole life to navigate the world around me and feeling like the only one without the instructions for how to interact with everyone and everything as a result my mental health has always had a hard time. Getting a diagnosis meant understanding about who I was and knowing there was nothing wrong with me I just had a different brain. Early diagnosis is crucial. My beautiful son has recently been diagnosed and he too has his own mental health struggles that he deals with. I’m doing this for him for young me and all other Autistic Australians who face mental health challenges because they deserve an inclusive world in which we can thrive.Â
Please donate now and show your support to my fundraiser. You’ll be helping more Autistic people in Australia access life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies and adult community services.Â
