Hi, it's me - Janet!
Something people may or may not have known about me is that I have a sibling, as well as a cousin with autism. They were both born in the same year. Back in 1996, My maternal Aunty had her 2nd child on February, and a few months after her younger sister (my mother) had her 2nd child in May. Growing up with autism in the family was not easy, but it was not all struggles and hardship. I'm proud of how much they've matured.
However, 70% of Autistic people and children face mental health challenges.
This October, I’m running towards a more inclusive world where Autistic Australians have the opportunity to thrive and grow in a supportive environment, free from stigma or discrimination.
Please feel free to donate to support people with autism and their families and carers. Your donations will go to providing early diagnosis, autism-specific education, and critical research into mental health issues experienced by Autistic people so they can access the support they need to realise their different brilliant®.
I will be to logging my kilometres as I go the distance throughout October. Donate now to show your support.
Thanks for passing by!
