I'm running for....
I have spent almost every single day for the past 10 years working with children and young adults with autism trying to make a positive impact in their lives.
I see first hand the challenges they face and will continue to face every day just trying to live their lives, and I see the huge impact small acts of kindness from people in the community have on them just by having awareness. Which is why I have decided to run half a marathon (21.1kms) to raise more much needed awareness for autism. I could never give back to them what they have given me, but I’m hoping this is a start.
I’m running for autism to help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind.
I've set my challenge and I'll be running on 7th November while raising much needed funds to support people on the autism spectrum.
An estimated 1 in every 70 people is on the spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians.
People on the spectrum see, hear, feel and experience the world differently. For many, simply coping with the everyday can lead to confusion, anxiety and isolation.
By coming together and taking action, we can help provide opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to participate, engage and thrive in the world around them.
