I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.
Hello, I’m Layla and this October I’ll be running to raise awareness and support for autism. It’s a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.
I’ve been an early childhood educator for six years, and during that time I’ve had the absolute honour of working with so many incredible children on the autism spectrum. Every child has taught me something new, patience, understanding, strength, and the beauty of seeing the world through a different perspective.
I’ve watched these children face challenges with resilience, grow in their own unique ways, and shine in ways many people don’t get to see. Their stories, their joy, and their progress are the reason I love what I do. Being part of their journey is one of the greatest blessings in my life.
This run isn’t just about raising money. It’s about standing beside every child I’ve worked with, their families, and so many others in the community. It’s about creating more understanding, more inclusion, and a future where neurodiversity is embraced and celebrated.
Why am I running 170 km this October? Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges.
I’m running towards a more inclusive world where Autistic Australians have the opportunity to thrive.
Please donate now and show your support to my fundraiser. You’ll be helping more Autistic people in Australia access life-changing assessments, autism-specific education, specialist therapies, and adult community services.
You’ll also give me the motivation I need to log my kilometres as I go the distance throughout October. Every step I take will be for love, hope, and purpose.
Let’s run together for awareness, for inclusion, and for change.
Thank you so much for being part of this journey!
