Done! Did it! Finished! BOOM!
Well I did it. Last day today, ended with a run and bike ride. Knee is sore, ankle is sore, shins are sore! I am so excited to have a rest this weekend. Thinking that I will run on Monday and Tuesday, just because I like it. That was unexpected. I think without a deadline, it will be more enjoyable. And I will DEFINITELY be having some rest days for muscle recovery. Maybe I'll do a 10km run.... I feel another goal coming on 😁I'm gonna make it!!!
I am going to hit 70km on Friday! I am so pumped. I just can't believe that I have been a part of this fundraiser. I am stretched my calf's all day at work. It kind of looks like I'm holding the walls up all day. Looking forward to a rest this weekend!Hair Issues
Which day to wash my hair has actually become a big challenge. I don't want to wash my hair every day, but it kind of needs it.Sunday, Funday
I am trying to find motivation for a run, so this morning I went for a bike ride. Pleasant. And I think a run is on the horizon for this afternoon after church. But first, get me to the church on time.Morning vs Afternoon Run
I am a big believer in self-care. There isn't always time to hit up a day spa or get to the beach, but I do believe that God will insert beauty into my day through His creation around me. I love the morning birds and the freshness the morning brings. But, those sunsets just hit me in the feels! I enjoy seeing my school in the afternoon once everyone has gone. Pretty spectacular ✨️Half Way Baby!
Awe yeah! Made it past half way. I admit, I had a bit of pride well up. This is not getting easier. I hit the last km and think, "just give up, you've done 2km".But I don't wanna!
Today was the first run where I just really didn't want to do it.2 out of 3 ain't bad!
I did a 5km bike ride and a 3km run today. So, I pretty much did two components of a triathlon. Today I dragged my family along. It's nice exercising with others! Anthony was on a leg day, and Naomi did a bit of everything! Hoping to repeat today's efforts again tomorrow! My goal is to get close to the 1/2 way mark of 70km.Cracked the 20km marker!
Awwww YEAH!! I hit 22km today. I am feeling so proud of myself. I am getting into a good rhythm with my running now. Still rocking the calf sleeves, and today I looked particularly on point, as I had bike pants on. That below the knee muffin top is so pretty. I think that I just might make it guys!!!!Can't Talk, Running!
Why is it, when one is busy, it is then that the masses need to speak to oneself?Looking For Something?
And on the seventh day, God rested
Running Buddy
So tonight I fit in a 2km 1/2 speed walk, 1/2 jog. Probably not a good idea as I already ran this morning and my shins are sore, BUT.... I had my Q10 with me. Vanessa, you're my gurrrl!Past the 10km mark!!
Well, I have done it! I have hit double digits this morning. 11km down, 59km to go! I think the key is excellent music. I made a new play list today. Queen, TOTO, Rihanna, Electric Callboy, and my favourite AC/DC.The Humble Hair Tie
Well today marks 8km. Only 62km to go!! I did learn today, that a hair tie is practically essential for running. Now I get why I used to wear 13 hair ties on my wrist in the 90s.... for all the activities I did!!5km down! 65km to go!
Well today I went to the school gym to blast my 'pump it up' 90s music, and run on the treadmill. What a great way to run!! Singing my guts out with puffed lungs.... NAILED IT!Well that was quick!
I’m running this October for the 1 in 70 Australians on the autism spectrum.
Did you know that autism is estimated to affect over 350,000 Australians every day? For children, an early diagnosis is critical. It means more tailored support at home and school, so they can experience the joy of being a different brilliant.
Sadly, there are so many financially disadvantaged families who are currently on the waitlist for urgently needed autism assessments.
That’s why I’m taking on Run for autism. To help children access an early diagnosis, opening doors to specialised support services and giving them the best possible chance to shine!
Will you please support my run for autism by making a tax-deductible donation?
Any contribution, large or small, will help make a huge difference in the lives of families waiting on an autism diagnosis.
Thank you so much!
