Madeleine Spencer

I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.

Why am I running 100km this October?

Because 70% of Autistic people face mental health challenges — and that’s something I understand deeply, not just as a parent, but personally too.

Our beautiful 5-year-old son Cohen is nonverbal and has autism. His diagnosis began a journey for our entire family. Since then, I’ve also been diagnosed with Autism and ADHD, and his siblings are neurodivergent too. Our life is full of challenges, growth, and joy — and I feel incredibly blessed.

Now, I’m ready to give back.

I’m running towards a more inclusive world where Autistic Australians have the opportunity to thrive.

By donating to my fundraiser, you’re helping more Autistic people in Australia access:

• life-changing assessments

• autism-specific education

• specialist therapies

• and vital adult community services.

You’ll also be giving me the drive to keep logging every kilometre through October, one step closer to a future where all Autistic people are seen, heard, and supported.

Whether you’re at the beginning of your journey or somewhere in the middle, you’re not alone. Let’s do this together.
