Hi All,I've been a bit lacking in my running because I got hit with the Influenza A that has been going around but I can see the support rolling in. Thanks so much! I'm going to start up my running again soon and hopefully I'll be able to get close to my goal!
I’m joining the movement to Run for Autism. But I need your help.
Why am I running 50km this October? Because my son has been diagnosed as autistic and there's a high likelihood that my wife and I are some kind of neurodiverse. I'm also doing 50km this year instead of the 70kms I did last year because it's getting tougher to find time between therapies, appointments and other daily life to make time for consistent exercise with all the other things that need to get done. I feel this must be a fairly common experience for parents of ND kids all over.
Part of this is having the support to find the space to look after family and myself. I want this world to be a more inclusive world where Autistic Australians have the opportunity to thrive and that their carers have the support they need to not get sick and exhausted with the process of getting access to these supports. Not only that it is getting harder to access all the time .
