My reason, Kyrie ❤️
💙 This October, I’m running 70km for autism. 💙
This challenge means so much more to me than simply running 70km. I’m doing it to help raise awareness, understanding and support for autistic people and their families — but most importantly, I’m doing it for my beautiful nephew.
My nephew is nearly 2 and is currently showing many signs of autism. He only can say 2 or 3 words and struggles to communicate what he wants, needs or how he is feeling. Most of the time he walks around humming, rocks himself back and forth, or shakes when he gets excited or overwhelmed.
Sometimes I look at his beautiful little face and wonder what is going on inside his mind. I wish more than anything that he could tell us what he is thinking, what he needs, what makes him happy or when something is upsetting him. It breaks my heart knowing there are so many things he may want to express but he just can’t do it.
He is currently receiving intensive therapy, and we are doing everything we can to help him learn, communicate and understand the world around him. I’ve made communication cards for him, and seeing him slowly begin to understand and use them makes me so incredibly proud.
He is the most precious little boy, and I will forever do everything in my power to love him, protect him, support him and be there for him. I know our whole family will do exactly the same. Whatever his future looks like, he will never have to face it alone. 💙
So throughout October, I’ll be running 70km to raise funds and awareness for autism.
Every kilometre will be for my nephew. For the words he can’t say. For the emotions he can’t express. For every little milestone that might seem small to somebody else but means the absolute world to us.
And for every autistic person and every family learning how to navigate this journey.
I would absolutely love your support in helping me reach my fundraising goal. Whether you donate, share my fundraiser or simply cheer me on throughout the 70km, every little bit means more to me and my family than you know.
70km. One month. One very special little boy who is worth every single step. 💙
Please support me on my journey this October and help me reach my goal. 🧩💙

I love you
