100km
This October, I'm taking on one of the biggest challenges of my life—running 100 kilometres to raise money for autism.
Originally, I had planned to complete the recommended 70 kilometres. But because I'm turning 30 this year, I wanted to make this challenge even more meaningful. So, I've decided to add 30 extra kilometres, bringing my total to 100 kilometres. It's my way of celebrating this milestone while giving back to a cause that means so much to me.
What makes this challenge even bigger is that I'm not a runner. In fact, I have little to no running experience and am currently training to run my very first 5K as a personal goal. Going from barely being able to run 1 kilometre to completing 100 kilometres throughout October feels daunting, but I'm determined to prove to myself that I can do it.
As someone who works directly with ASD students in the school system, I've witnessed their resilience, unique perspectives, determination, and the joy they bring to those around them. I've also seen the challenges they face and the importance of providing the right support, understanding, and opportunities to help them thrive.
Every step I run represents the determination these students show every day while navigating a world that isn't always designed with them in mind. When the running gets tough, I'll be thinking of their courage, perseverance, and the lessons they've taught me.
I'm asking for your support to help raise funds that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of autistic people and their families. Every donation, no matter the size, helps create greater awareness, improved resources, and more opportunities for those living with autism.
To me, this challenge is so much more than crossing a finish line. It's about standing beside the children I work with every day and supporting every individual—whether diagnosed, awaiting a diagnosis, or yet to be recognised for who they are. It's about showing them they are seen, valued, understood, and believed in. They inspire me every single day, and this challenge is for them.
It's going to be tough, but I know every sore muscle, every blister, every early morning, and every kilometre will be worth it.
Whether you choose to donate, share my fundraiser, or simply cheer me on from the sidelines, you'll be helping me take every step with purpose.
100 kilometres. One purpose. Countless lives impacted. 💙
