Marcus

I am running for my eldest boy Marcus who is 10 years and is on the Autism Spectrum.

Marcus is a level 1. To look at him you would not think anything, as he can hold it together for periods of time, until he is home in his own environment. The meltdowns was sadly once seen by others as bad behaviour or a naughty boy.

When he was 7 years after visiting several professionals Marcus was diagnosed as he has sensory processing and emotional regulation problems.

With ongoing Occupational Therapy, Psychological sessions and love, Marcus has improved over time.

I'm running for....

I’m running for autism to help create a world where no-one on the autism spectrum is left behind.

I've set my challenge and I'll be running from Sunday 30 October to 6 November while raising much needed funds to support people on the autism spectrum.

An estimated 1 in every 70 people is on the spectrum. Along with their family members, this means autism is a part of daily life for over a million Australians.

People on the spectrum see, hear, feel and experience the world differently. For many, simply coping with the everyday can lead to confusion, anxiety and isolation.

By coming together and taking action, we can help provide opportunities for people on the autism spectrum to participate, engage and thrive in the world around them.
